Wind-excited and aeroelastic response

The WindDyn Research Group has been developing analytical, numerical and experimental methods to determine the wind-excited and aeroelastic response of structures for nearly 40 years.

In this framework, pioneering closed-form solutions have been developed, new computer programs have been implemented, wind tunnel tests and full-scale measurements of signature structures have been carried out including the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Messina Strait Bridge, the Brancusi Endless Column and an almost unlimited number of towers, buildings, bridges, footbridges, roofs, and other construction.

These studies have been giving a determinant impact on wind loading standards and codes.
